• The Feast of the Protection of the Mother of God falls on Saturday, Oct .14 (10/1). There will be Great Vespers for the feast on Friday evening at 6 p.m. and Divine Liturgy for the feast on Saturday at 9 a.m.
• The regular monthly general pannykhida for October is moved to Tuesday evening Oct. 31.
• Nov. 10 is Veteran’s day. A special molieben for Veterans will be served at the end of the Divine Liturgy on Sunday Nov. 12.
• American Thanksgiving Day is Nov. 23 and there will be the molieben and Akathist of Thanksgiving on that day at 10 a.m.

• Nativity Fast begins on Nov. 28 (15). This fast is somewhat relaxed (similar to Apostles Fast in June and July). Note the calendar for the various levels of relaxation (when fish, wine and oil are permitted) to the fasting rule.
