Announcements

  • The Russian Food Festival is on Friday and Saturday, May 15 and 16. This is the major outreach and fundraising parish event of the year and we need everyone to help. Contact Dan or Elena DeYoung to get on the schedule to help prepare food, serve, cashier, greet guests, bus tables, set up and take down or participate in some way. It doesn’t matter whether you are Russian or not – this food festival is something that everyone can participate in.
  • The feast of our Lord’s Ascension into Heaven, which is 40 days after Pascha, falls on Thursday May 21 this year. There will be the Vigil service on Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. and the Liturgy for the feast at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday morning.
  • Fr. David will be out of town on the weekend of Sunday May 24. There will be reader’s services both Saturday evening and Sunday morning with Fr. Deacon Matthew at the Church.
  • The feast of Pentecost (Troitsa), the remembrance of the Descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles 50 days after Pascha, comes up on Sunday May 31. The Saturday evening Vigil and Sunday morning Liturgy will be at the usual times. Kneeling Vespers will immediately follow the Divine Liturgy
  • The annual PanOrthodox Pentecost Potluck Picnic will be held on Sunday, May 31, right after the Kneeling Vespers at about 1:00 p.m. at Veteran’s park. There will be no coffee or meal at the Church on that day, we should all plan on gathering at the park. Everyone should bring something to share so that there is enough for all.
