Russian Food Festival News


The Saint Seraphim Russian Food Festival is being reconfigured.  Due to some key personnel changes and other factors, it has become necessary to look at our format and revise it somewhat.  The Festival has always been an important part of our Church life as well as a fundraiser for capital projects.  We are looking at different ways of meeting our needs as well as yours, our faithful and valued customers, in the future.  Please keep an eye on this website/facebook page for future developments.

In addition to the local changes, there is also currently a war involving countries that many of our parishioners call “home” – both Ukraine and Russia – and so this is a difficult time for all of us and this situation impacts our ability to put on a “festival” when so many of our relatives are suffering.

Remodel is Completed!


Come and see what the proceeds from the Russian Food Festival have made possible!  We completed our long anticipated remodeling project at the end of 2019 and truly appreciate all the help from the community in turning our dream into a reality.

Entertainment
 
We are so excited to welcome Juliana Svetlitchnaia and Artyom Muravsky to the Russian Food Festival this year!  They will be performing traditional Russian music throughout the day on Friday and Saturday.
 
Juliana is part of EthnoRussia, an organization dedicated to preserving traditional Russian songs.  From ethnorussia.com “Some of the songs… are more than a thousand years old. For centuries they were passed from generation to generation only by the oral tradition, sometimes evolving, sometimes staying close to what they sounded like in those ancient days. Even today there are Russian villages where this tradition still exists, but it is quickly fading. As the time goes by, the old masters pass away, and the young villagers tend to choose the modern culture."

 

Local Iconographer


Come and meet local iconographer Matthew Garrett.  He will be displaying some of his work and talking about the process of painting an icon.  His biography and a complete catalog of his work are available on his web site.
