  • Our Altar Feast of St. Seraphim of Sarov is Sunday August 1 (7/19). Due to travel and scheduling difficulties, Bishop James of Sonora will not be able to be with us on this day. The celebration for St. Seraphim will be moved to Saturday August 7.  There will be vigil for the feast on Friday evening at 6 p.m. and Hierarchal Divine Liturgy on Saturday at 9 a.m. We will greet the bishop at 9 a.m. so make every effort to be there before 9 a.m. so that we might give him a fitting welcome.  Following the Divine Liturgy there will be a festal meal in the hall.
  • The feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord is Thursday August 19 (8/6). There will be vigil for the feast on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. and Divine Liturgy on Thursday at 9 a.m.  First fruits (grapes and apples) will be blessed at the end of the Divine Liturgy.
  • The Feast of The Dormition of the Virgin is Saturday August 28 (8/15). There will be vigil for the feast on Friday evening at 6 p.m. and Divine Liturgy on Saturday at 9 a.m.
  • The Feast of The Nativity of the Virgin is Tuesday September 21 (9/8). There will be vigil for the feast on Monday evening at 6 p.m. and Divine Liturgy on Tuesday at 9 a.m.
  • The Feast of The Exaltation of the Cross is Monday September 27 (9/14). There will be vigil for the feast on Sunday evening at 6 p.m. and Divine Liturgy on Monday at 9 a.m. The Feast of the Cross is a fasting day.
  • Additional weekday liturgies for August and September will be as follows:

9:00 a.m. Thu. Sept. 2 (Prophet Samuel)
9:00 a.m. Wed. Sept. 8 (MM Adrian and Natalie)
9:00 a.m. Tue. Sept. 14 (Church New Year)

  • Dormition Fast begins on Saturday August 14 (8/1) and continues through Friday August 27. This is a short but very strict fast.
  • The Russian Food Festival is still on! We have rescheduled from the spring to the first weekend in October.  Please be alert for the times and dates of preparation and plan to help out, and save October 1 & 2 to volunteer at the festival. 
  • The Miraculous Myrrh-streaming Hawaii Icon of the Virgin Mary is scheduled to visit the parish on October 9 & 10. In addition to the regular Saturday and Sunday services there will be additional services and opportunities for the veneration of the icon.
