Announcements
  • During September the exterior was nearly finished with new windows, siding, and roofing. We should be ready for painting during the week of the 6th. We have an offer of spraypainting the exterior if we will prepare by taping off and masking the windows, metal edging, etc.  We also plan to see the sheetrock finished by the 13th.  After this it will remain to us to paint the interior and to complete many of the small and sometimes tedious “finishes” to meet the expectations of the building code.  With God’s help it is conceivable that near the end of October at the earliest we will qualify for our final permanent “occupancy permit” for the building.  But this will, of course, require the help and cooperation of every member of our parish so please be ready and willing to help whenever there is a need.
  • Archbishop Kyrill will be joining us in November (9 & 10) at which time we will bless the cross for the top of the Church and raise it into position. This is the final step in completing the construction project.
  • The weekends of Oct. 5/6 and 12/13 we will still be in the hall for services. Depending on the sheetrock taping, it might be possible to return to the Church for liturgy on the 13th.  Again, until we get all the painting and other finishes completed and until we have our final inspections, this is a temporary situation that may need to change at a moment’s notice.  Please watch your email, the Church website and Facebook page for up to date information.
  • The Protection of the Virgin falls on Monday Oct. 14. There will be vigil on Sunday evening at 6 p.m. and Divine Liturgy at 8 a.m.
