Announcements
  • The feast of the Ascension of the Lord falls on Thursday June 13 (May 31) . We will concelebrate with Holy Transfiguration Antiochian parish.  All services will be at St. Seraphim’s. Vigil will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening and Liturgy will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday.
  • The feast of Pentecost (the Descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles) falls on June 23 (10). The services will be as usual for Saturday and Sunday.  Kneeling vespers will be celebrated immediately following the Divine Liturgy on Sunday.  Sunday afternoon we will celebrate with our Perennial Pan-Orthodox Potluck Picnic in the Park at the Borah Shelter in Borah Park.  The address is 801 S. Aurora Dr. in Boise.
  • Since Fr. David was unable to bless the graves on Radonitsa, he will visit all the graves on the Monday of the Holy Spirit, June 24. If you wish to meet him at a particular grave, please contact him directly to coordinate times.
  • Apostle’s Fast begins on July 1 and continues through July 11. This fast is relatively relaxed so check the calendar for the fasting rule for each day.
  • The feast of St. John of San Francisco falls on Tuesday July 2 (6/19). There will be vigil on Monday evening at 6 p.m. and Divine Liturgy on Tuesday at 9 a.m.
  • The feast of SS Peter and Paul falls on Friday July 12 (6/29). There will be Great Vespers on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. and Divine Liturgy on Friday at 9 a.m.
  • The feast of the Royal Martyrs falls on Wednesday July 17 (4). There will be Vigil on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. and Divine Liturgy at 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
  • The parish altar feast (prestolniy prazdnik) is on Thursday August 1 (7/19). There will be Vigil for the feast on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. and Divine Liturgy at 9 a.m. on Thursday morning. There will be a general celebration for the feast on the following Sunday (August 4).  Archbishop Kyrill will visit the parish on August 3 and 4 to celebrate the parish feast with us.
  • Additional weekday liturgies in June will be 6/6 (St. Symeon the Stylite), 6/20 (HM Theodotus) and 6/27 (Prophet Elisha) and in July on July 25 (Three handed icon of the Virgin). These liturgies will all begin at 9 a.m.
  • If you have not visited the bookstore recently, take a moment before or after services to do so. Matushka Lisa has done a wonderful job of making a wide variety of items available for sale.  There are books, icons, prayer ropes, crosses, hand-painted candles, charcoal/incense for personal use, CDs, scarves, decorative items, coffee from an Orthodox owned roastery, and food items from a convent.  Payment can be by cash or check using the contribution box in the bookstore.  Venmo and PayPal are also accepted - please add a notation to the payment that it is for bookstore items.
