Announcements
  • Our parish altar feast is Monday August 1 (7/19 os). We will celebrate the feast on the day before (Sunday July 31).   There will be a molieben following the Divine Liturgy and a festal meal in the hall.
  • On Tuesday August 2 there will be Liturgy at 9 a.m. for the Prophet Elijah. There will be a celebration at the home of Fr. Matthew Garret that evening as this is their family Slava.
  • Sunday August 14 (8/1 os) is the Procession of the Cross. There will be blessing of honey on that day following the Divine Liturgy.  This day also is the first day of the Dormition fast which lasts through August 27 and ends with the feast of the Dormition (Falling Asleep) of the Mother of God. This fast is short (2 weeks) but it is kept strictly.
  • The feast of our Lord’s Transfiguration is on August 19 (8/6 os). There will be vigil for the feast on Thursday August 18 at 6 p.m. and Divine Liturgy for the feast on August 19 at 9 a.m.
  • The great feast of the Dormition (Falling Asleep) of the Mother of God is Sunday August 28 (8/15 os). The services for the feast will be combined with the regular Saturday Vigil and Sunday Divine Liturgy.
  • Sunday September 11 (8/29 os) is the commemoration of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist. This is a fast day.
  • The Synod of Bishops will meet September 13-21 in New York at which time a new Metropolitan and First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia will be chosen. Please keep our hierarchs in your prayers especially at this time.
  • Wednesday September 21 (9/8 os) is the feast of the Birth of the Virgin Mary. There will be vigil for the feast on Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. and Divine Liturgy on Wednesday at 9 a.m.
  • The great feast of the Exaltation of the Cross is on Tuesday September 27 (9/14 os). There will be a vigil for the feast on Monday evening at 6 p.m. and Divine Liturgy on Tuesday at 9 a.m.  This is also a fast day.
  • Archbishop Kyrill will visit the parish on October 8 & 9. Details for this visit will be announced.
  • Additional weekday Liturgies for August: Martyr Callinicus, 8/11, 7:30 a.m.; Martyrs Photios and Company, 8/25, 7:30am.
  • Additional weekday Liturgies for September: Martyr Andrew the General, 9/1, 9 a.m.; Martyrs Adrian and Natalia, 9/8, 7:30a.m.; Martyr Mamas, 9/15, 9 a.m.
  • Friday evening Akathist and Law of God class on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month. There will be no class on August 26 due to Fr. David’s absence.
