Announcements
- The Russian Food Festival will be on May 19th and 20th. The week prior to this, from May 13th on, we will all be working very hard to prepare for the festival and to staff it. Please be ready and willing to volunteer as much of your time and effort as possible during the whole week and especially on the Friday and Saturday of the Festival. Please contact Dan and Elena DeYoung to find out what you can do to help.
- The Feast of the Ascension falls on Thursday May 25 (5/12 os). There will be Great Vespers for the feast on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. followed by a presentation by Fr. Silouan Thompson regarding the Orthodox Mission in the Philippines. Divine Liturgy will be on Thursday morning at 8 a.m.
- The feast of Pentecost falls on Sunday June 4th. On that day we will have the Vesper service with the prayers for kneeling immediately following the Divine Liturgy and then, instead of our regular trapeza, we will gather at Esther Simplot Park (the new park on Whitewater Blvd.) at the main pavilion for our Perennial Pan-Orthodox Pentecost Potluck Picnic in the Park (by the Pond). This pavilion is next to the playground and swimming beach and is reserved for us from 12-4 p.m.
