Announcements

  • The feast of the Meeting of the Lord falls on Monday 2/15 (2/2). The Vigil of the feast will be on Sunday evening 2/14 at 6 p.m. and the Divine Liturgy for the feast on Monday morning at 8 a.m.
  • The pre-Lenten period begins on Sunday 2/21 with the Sunday of the Publican and the Pharisee. This first week of pre-Lent is a fast free week.
  • We will begin our Lenten study series on Friday evening 3/4 at 7 p.m. This year we are reading from the book Hungry Orthodox Christian Reader. The first reading will be from the writings of St. Symeon the New Theologian on Spiritual Anthropology.
  • Preparations for the Russian Food Festival are underway. If you have not yet volunteered to help, please talk to Dan or Elena DeYoung today.
  • There is now a container for donations to the Boise Food Bank in the entry way. Please consider bringing a can of food each time you come to Church to share with those who are in need.
  • It continues to be a joy to see the young men serving in the altar. This duty is not limited to boys, however, and adult men who wish to serve in the altar are also welcome. Please speak with Fr. David if you wish to take advantage of this opportunity. It is time to make some adjustments to the server teams and schedule. The new teams are listed on the calendar and their week is indicated by the name of their team. On those days when your child is to serve, endeavor to have him at the Church before the beginning of the Divine Liturgy.
