Notice for Altar Servers

We had some success over the past month with the teams of altar servers, however, there have been a few slips ups as well. The members of each team have been shuffled a little and I hope this reflects a better mix. The teams will continue to alternate serving each week. On the calendar each week the team assigned to serve will be noted. On the weeks when your child’s team is to serve, please make sure that they are there early – at the beginning of the Divine Liturgy (that’s 9:30 a.m.) so that they can prepare properly for their duties that day.

The new teams are as follows:

Cherubim – Nataniel, U-el, Mark, Andre

Seraphim – Johann, Simeon, Alexander, Constantine

Again, parents please check the monthly calendar to see which group will serve each week (the name of the group is printed in each Sunday block). When your child is serving they need to be at the Church no later than 9:30 a.m. when the Divine Liturgy begins. Also make sure your child is dressed appropriately to serve in the altar (dress shirt, long pants, socks and nice shoes). I endeavor to talk briefly with the servers each Sunday after Liturgy to encourage them and to make corrections, therefore they may be a little late getting out of the altar at times.

I would also like to note that serving in the altar is not limited to young men, but that grown men (adults) may also serve and would be a great asset to the serving teams.
